November came and went like a blip on my screen. Thirty days have never gone so fast! I had several medical tests, a surgery, my son’s wedding, went to an author event, several dinners with friends, I wrote and edited several thousands of words and skidded into December like a runner into home base. I came across the idea of the One Hundred Day Creative Challenge and decided to just do it.
I was going to post this morning, but the day rushed by in a blur of boxing class, cleaning windows, laundry, writing an article and having a friend over for dinner. It’s 9pm here in Perth and I’m just finding the time to introduce a new theme for the next one hundred days.
I know the time will go fast. I have another surgery to face, a mini-break ‘Down South’, Christmas and much, much more. In January this year my husband and I decided to stop saying, ‘I’m busy,’ and replace it with ‘Life is full.’
In the midst of my full life, I’ve decided to challenge myself to be creative every day for the next one hundred days. I have two books to finish writing and one to re-edit, but I want to fill my days, not just with work, but:
- to create something fresh: fresh ideas, projects, conversations
- to get the creative juices flowing even when I’m confined to home after surgery.
- to try new things
- to dream and imagine beyond what I already am doing.
- to share the journey with those who care to join me on this crazy idea
- to look differently at being physically challenged by the surgery and to see it as an opportunity to read, write and create
- to pray and seek inspiration from the Creator
I’m going to post a different quote every day for the next one hundred days and see what inspiration grows out of the process. The challenge will take me up to March 9th and I’m sure the time will fly!
