Dance. Smile. Giggle. Marvel. TRUST. HOPE. LOVE. WISH. BELIEVE. Most of all, enjoy every moment of the journey, and appreciate where you are at this moment instead of always focusing on how far you have to go. Mandy Hale

Today at the gym a young girl was working out next to me on the treadmill. As I began to get to the stage where my chest was bursting with effort a piercing noise erupted from the girl next to me.

“Oh Baby!’ The girl shrieked.

I think she was singing. It sounded as if she had been stabbed and was calling for help.

I turned my head to see what she was doing and she had a big smile on her face. She was singing away without being in tune. Others around her were frowning and wincing at the awful sound. Even one of the trainers came from downstairs and said, ‘What is that noise? I can hear it down at the desk.’

Her friend, who was also working out, rolled her eyes and said, ‘She won’t stop. It drives me crazy.’

I smiled at the girl as she pulled her headphones off and muttered, ‘What?’ when she realised everyone was staring at her.

I didn’t admire her singing, but I did admire her joy. She got off the treadmill at that point and began working out with dumbbells. As she lifted the weights her hips would sway and and she was mouthing words under her breath.

We were in a women’s only section of the gym and everyone seems a lot more relaxed compared to when they work out with the heavy-lifting men who grunt downstairs.

If only we could all have a little of that spirit in us all the time.

Playing snow angels. Enjoying the moment.

I remember getting the giggles as a girl and being sent out of class because I couldn’t stop laughing. Even outside on the bench I would continue to laugh as I thought of whatever it was that had set me off. It happens very rarely now, but when I lose myself in laughter, it’s so great.

I’m not a great singer, but whenever I’m at a concert or at church, I sing at the top of my voice and enjoy letting the joy out. Sometimes in the car I sing along to the radio at the top of my voice.

I don’t really dance, but I do move a lot when I hear music with a catchy beat.

Too often, we stop ourselves doing things because life has become too serious.

In deciding to live an adventurous life, I’ve decided to embrace the silliness of moments, to take chances to be spontaneous. That’s how to live.

 Because of our routines

we forget that life

is an ongoing adventure.
